Come walk with me
So I’m going to be getting my last huge long training walk in before the big Breast Cancer 3-Day next month, and if you want to come along for any piece or part of it, here’s the route.

Someone on the Disney Deads website sent around this very awesome link today to a Google map add-on that allows you to point and click through a route and calculate mileage. Here’s our regular route.
June 19 / 8:00 am
Cedar Creek 5K Trail Run (Metea Park) $17
July 16 / 8:30 am
Bruin Alumni 5 K (Shoaff Park ) $15
July 23 / 8:30 am
Matthew 25 5K (Foster Park) $20
So I was at the Flying Pig Half Marathon this weekend, and catching a ride with my friend, Tom, from the Disney Deads listserv to the start of the race, he was telling me that his plan for the full marathon was to run hard and qualify for Boston. I asserted (as I have in the past) that I have no chance at ever qualifying, as I am S-L-O-W. Just for kicks, I looked on the BAA website to see what the female qualifying times would be, and to what paces they translate; here’s the data:
| Age Group | Time | Pace |
| 18-34 | 3:40 | 8:23 |
| 35-39 | 3:45 | 8:35 |
| 40-44 | 3:50 | 8:46 |
| 45-49 | 4:00 | 9:09 |
| 50-54 | 4:05 | 9:21 |
| 55-59 | 4:15 | 9:44 |
| 60-64 | 4:30 | 10:18 |
| 65-69 | 4:45 | 10:52 |
| 70-74 | 5:00 | 11:27 |
| 75-79 | 5:15 | 12:01 |
| 80+ | 5:30 | 12:35 |
I figure I’ll have a shot in about 38 years.
